Embracing the moment

We all have moments..some of them we love and some we absolutely hate.

Moments add up and over time they build a picture of our life. The ups and downs become a cycle in life - today you might be in your 'up' phase, tomorrow might be different.

Some moments are just just difficult to embrace and get your arms around. With others we fail to realise the moment because we are so caught up in our own thing, trying to figure out how to calm our stress.

But you don't have to figure out each moment of life on your own. When you come to a dark time, you can out your hands in Jesus hands and walk through it together.

HIS goodness is ever there for you because HE has given you the light you need for whatever step you're on.

~Don't be scared to go through 'life'

~Don't be afraid of the darkness in front of you

~Don't be afraid of what you might find at the other end of the tunnel

JESUS + YOU = VICTORY

"In the day when i cried out, you answered me and made me bold with strength in my soul- Psalm 138:3"

The word of God

When a word comes forth, it comes from something living. A dead person doesn't speak, when you hear a command or request it comes from a person; a living person.

According to John 1:1-3, the word lived from the beginning.

The word of God:

~is the most powerful force

~when God speaks his word, things happen

~never fails! - HIS word cannot return to him void. the word must accomplish its goal when it is sent out.

~God works out his purpose through his word

The WORD Of GOD is LIFE

"In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God........In him, there was life and that life was the light for all people" John 1: 1, 4.

The word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword.

The word of God:

~ evaluates

~names things

~separates good from bad

~gives authority

~responds to loneliness

The Word of God is the only true Prophet...let The Word be your standard for any decisions and judgement..let The Word be your standard in everything!!.

what are you worth?

Walking through the orphanage in north New Delhi, India...Jesse felt his heart soften for the children he saw.he was filled with emotion, his eyes were watering.

Everyone else saw deprived children who may not have a future but he saw the value and the worth God had placed in this children..

Across that big empty hall in the midst of all the faces, little Mark sat with his legs crossed and face buried in his hands. Jesse felt an urge to go and talk to the kid.

"I'm tired of living this life, no one cares. i don't have a mother or a father, the carer does what she has to do to get paid. I'm alone in the world.i wish i could be so many things, i wish i could do so many things but i cannot achieve my dream"

Jesse reached out and placed his hands on the boy's shoulders..he felt Mark's pain
" You're worth much, much more because Jesus loves you and HE let his son die for you so you are priceless! he cares about you and you can still achieve your dreams with his help"

.........................................................................................................

so many times in this life, i have come across people who feel like giving up just because they think no one cares or they are not worth anything to anyone...but hey did you ever wonder that every other human being might just be feeling the same as you?

Today is Jesus is reaching out to you and telling you that you are unique, made in his image and likeness; you are important!!

we are not perfect and a lot of the time we look for comfort in the wrong places...we are priceless because of the blood of the lamb! start living up to your self-worth.

God cares about you and he has plans for you.

Speak Life and Praise God

Elisse sat there is the dark corner of her room, hands folded and head buried in her lap.

Hot tears rolled down her cheeks and hit her grey trousers like bullets.her eyes were blood-shot red. Her final exams were coming up soon and she was buried up to her neck in piles of work.

Recently she'd been working in vain. She had been so busy that she hardly had time for herself or for her God. The day would begin with a "thank you lord for waking up this morning, please give me favour as I go out" and would end with a snore rather than a prayer.

And it began to seem like all her opened doors were gradually closing.
She was losing strength and there just wasn't enough hours in the day to accomplish all she would have wanted to.

3 months ago, she was knocked down by her results and that's when this 'workaholic spiral' started. She'd worked hard for months just trying to make sure that history does not repeat itself during her final exams. What will happen if the world collapsed on her again?
through her sadness, she heard a voice. "Praise me Elisse, speak life to your situation so I can act on it". in the midst of her tears, she saw hope!

why Have you left me till now?" she asked God

"My child, i have never left you nor forsaken you....let my name be praised.Remember it's not by your strength"

I hope my words and thoughts please you.Lord you are my rock, The one who saves me- Psalm 19:14

..................................................................................................

I don't know if there's someone out there who just feels like life is a burden right now. You feel as though the moment you solve on problem another one is next in line waiting to blow up at you doorstep. but there's hope!

you might feel too depressed to Praise God but actually that's the only way you get out of that depression. Speak life to your circumstances.
you might have been applying for a job for the past 6months and still there's no vacancy..continue to Praise God and thank him for already giving you that job (and continue applying of course).
you might be buried in school work like Elisse but make that time to Pray and seek God for his guidance. You'd be surprised how you'd suddenly discover you have reservoirs of strength and your time management is just too 'hot'!

wipe those tears from your eyes, speak life and Praise God!

Getting Past your past

When God determines your future, he doesn’t consult your past. Actually, he has already determined your future and according to Jeremiah 29:11, he has good plans for you; to give you a future and a hope.
You might think to yourself that right now your life is ‘hell on earth’, it’s a dead-end BUT God has said that your future has hope…
God knew what your life would be like even before you were formed in the womb but he still promised you a bright future.

So your past doesn’t matter one bit!!

Peter was a fisherman with a temper and some anti-social tendencies however, God filled him with so much spiritual power that when he preached, multitudes came to Christ.
Look at someone who you might relate to better: Abraham Lincoln
He lost several elections before finally becoming one of America’s greatest presidents.

You can’t seize your future while you’re obsessing over your past.
Learn from it and let it go.
Nobody starts out being good everything…if that were the case you would never learn anything.

“..Do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Learn from the spider [2]- use your God-given sense of discernment

The spider may have eight eyes, yet many spiders can barely see. What makes it an avid hunter is obviously not the eyes but the sensitivity in the hair follicles on its legs which can discern everything around it!

The message here is that you can discern more with your spirit than you can see with your eyes.

“…But you have been anointed by the Holy one and you all know” (1 John 2:20)

God will let you know things that you can neither prove nor explain. He gives inside information to those who seek to glorify him. You have great power; stop living beneath your spiritual privilege.

How many times have your eyes told you that you’re not gonna make it, but your spirit kept saying ‘everything will be alright’?
The spirit of God within can see further than your natural eyes can. The spirit of discernment can only be got when you remain in HIM.

Start walking in discernment…Stay close to God and he will show you things to come.

Learn from the spider [1]- everything you need is within you

Everything a spider needs to survive and succeed in life, God put within it. Swipe it with a broom and before it hits the ground, its fall is broken. It just reaches inside, releases another protein-filled silk thread and slides down, finds a safe place and comes back stronger and builds a new web.

Of course it’s just the same with you. You may not be able to spin a web everything you need, God has placed within you.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness...he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature” (2 Peter1:3-4)

God has given us everything we need and has made us participate in his divine nature. Your future is not determined by who you know or don’t, who likes you or who doesn’t. The power to fulfil your destiny is within YOU!

Life may have knocked you down but it hasn’t knocked you out. What’s at work within you will triumph over what’s at work around you.
Stand on God’s word, draw on your faith and hold on, as long as you still have what God put within you, you can make it.

Its the little things we should appreciate..it could be a package for something BIGGER!!

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His fathertold him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat Disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound BIBLE, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a BIBLE?", and stormed out of the house, leaving the BIBLE. Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business.

He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a Telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new BIBLE, just as he had left it years ago.

With tears, he opened the BIBLE and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse. As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the BIBLE.

It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for...

IF YOUR GIFT IS NOT PACKED THE WAY YOU WANT IT, IT'S BECAUSE IT IS BETTER PACKED THAT WAY! ALWAYS APPRECIATE LITTLE THINGS; THEY USUALLY LEAD YOU TO ATTACHMENTS!

Your troubles are stepping stones

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well.
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.
Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw.
With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,
he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
